They said it was easy, damn them. So there we are, Tali and me, setting up for the easy version of workout number one on EA Active from EA Games thinking 'sure, it says that it's the easy one, and look it only takes less than 15 minutes'... Ya, were we in for a shocking surprise. It didn't take long to get up a sweat with the first exercise, a set of walking with a run straight after; it looks so easy on the ads and on the example video that the guy does before you attempt each exercise.

By the time that the third exercise came on I was really beginning to hate the smirking, cheery faced optimistic look on the resultant offspring of a woman twixxed gerbil, whom we have hatingly dubbed “Phil”, and we weren't even half way though it yet – and there was no way that this thing was only going to take less than 15 minutes.

More curls, lunges, running, and skating later, and we were both buggered, which I guess is good, EA Active is definitely doing its job. What was rather annoying on my end though, is the fact that the voice seemed just a little bit biased toward Tali by saying things like “Player One (Tali) is really owning this exercise” and “Player One really has the edge on the competitiveness here”, well scr-ew y-ou...

Saying all this though, EA Active certainly delivered on its goal to get people active and off of the couch – was it hard, a bit and it will get harder; was it enjoyable, looking back on it, sure, doing it, not so much; did it do it's job, let's see:
